JW Enameling's color enhancements are offered to Mints, Coin Manufacturers and many others throughout the U.S. So what is it that makes us so differant? The most popular color application being done today is called "Color Fill". We offer color fill along with many other techniques that only JW Enameling does. Many others have tried to copy our techniques and special effects but none come close to the quality you receive from the company that developed these techniques.

COLOR FILL:  Over the past 3 years 90% of the US Miltary coins contain color. Either on just the obverse (front) side or both obverse and reverse. Dies for color fill coins are cut different than dies for coins that contain no color. The color fill is  applied to the low recessed areas of the coin, and depending on the amount of colors some coins will require each color to be applied, then cured  before the next color is done. The coin on the left is done in  opaque colors and our Glow In The Dark.

COLOR DETAIL: This process is what JW Enameling has become known for applying color the the high relief area on a coin. Some of the most beautiful coins are done with this process. Portrait coins can look like a minature oil painting. Some of our special effects can also be done in color detail to add a small enhancement to the coin. The coin on the left is done with Transparent colors so the 3D detail of the coin can be seen. Then topped off with a clear coat protective dome.
